This panel will explore the challenges and opportunities related to the successful incorporation of new and innovative approaches into the public sector while operating at a time when increased fluidity, change and uncertainty have become the ‘new normal’ both within public service and outside of it. Our session will discuss the impact of emerging technologies, new roles for public servants that reflect the need to incorporate user-experience into policy and service improvement, social media use, and innovative hiring and staffing practices. Panelists will provide participants with insights in how to prepare for changing approaches, and how to remain successful while this environment changes within your professional setting.

This panel will provide insights into initiatives at all levels of government related to Digital Transformation and how this will affect those who are new to or about to enter the public service. Our experts bring to the discussion diverse perspectives and hands-on experience in implementing critical changes in the design and delivery of digital transformation. Among the questions that they will address are: what skills and credentials will you need to stay current and relevant? How can you design a successful digital transformation strategy? and how will these transformations challenge current practices relating to hiring, onboarding and redefining existing and familiar roles within the public service?
